At Craig Norton Psychotherapy, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you interact with our website, social media, or submit your contact information via Facebook Lead Advertisements.

As a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) in Ontario, our data collection practices are governed by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) Professional Practice Standards and the Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA).

1. Information We Collect

When you fill out a lead generation form or contact form via our Facebook advertisements or website, we may collect the following information:

  • Contact Information: Your name, email address, and phone number.

  • Consultation Data: Any brief details you choose to share regarding your availability or booking preferences for a consultation.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected from our Facebook advertisements strictly for the following purposes:

  • To contact you to schedule and conduct your requested, free 15-minute phone consultation.

  • To deliver introductory information regarding our psychotherapy services.

Important Clinical Clarification: Submitting your contact information through a Facebook advertisement, website form, or email inquiry does not constitute or establish a formal therapist-client or therapeutic relationship with Craig Norton, RP. A formal therapeutic relationship is only established after an initial assessment and the mutual signing of an explicit Informed Consent to Therapy agreement.

3. Storage and Protection of Your Data

Even before you become a client, we treat your inquiries with strict confidentiality.

  • We do not leave your data sitting on Facebook's unencrypted ad servers.

  • Your lead details are securely transferred and stored using Jane App, which aligns with PHIPA compliance standards for digital health information storage.

  • We implement robust technical security measures to safeguard against unauthorized access, loss, or theft of your information.

4. Third-Party Sharing

We never sell, rent, trade, or share your personal contact information with third-party marketers or advertisers. Your data is only handled by Craig Norton Psychotherapy and the secure software applications required to process your booking request.

5. Data Retention and Your Rights

If you submit your information but choose not to book a consultation, or if we do not move forward with a therapeutic relationship, your lead data will be securely deleted from our prospective contact lists after 90 days.

You have the right to request access to the information we hold about you, request corrections, or ask that we completely delete your lead data from our systems at any time.
